For over 30 years, Ary managed worldwide trademark portfolios consisting of thousands of U.S. and foreign trademarks.
Ary grew up in France, and is fluent in English, French, and Hebrew.
He has extensive experience in domestic and foreign trademark clearance, prosecution, and counseling for clients across a broad range of industries, including consumer goods, pharmaceuticals, fashion and apparel, food and beverages, appliances and lighting, automotive products, music, entertainment, publishing, engineering, and telecommunications.
In addition, Ary performs due diligence work on intellectual property (IP)-related aspects of corporate transactions and drafts assignments, licenses, letters of consent and coexistence agreements. He is involved in enforcement proceedings, including multi-country oppositions actions, and also handles Copyright and Customs and Border Protection matters, trademark watch services and legalizations.
Ary started off his career in higher education. Upon completion of two Master’s (Business Law and IP Law) at the Robert Schuman University of Strasbourg (France), Ary was appointed as the Head of the Center for International Franchising Studies at the Center for International Industrial Property Studies (in Strasbourg), where he taught Trademark and Contract Law, and led a research group in case-law. He later held positions as IP Jurist and Trademark Agent with several IP law firms in France and Belgium, including Manager of his own trademark practice. In Europe, he assisted numerous companies in the transfer of IP rights, including worldwide assignments of a portfolio of more than 12,000 trademark applications/registrations following a complex merger in the pharmaceutical industry.
